About the Painting
This painting is a representation of a religious flood that wiped out humanity on earth. In the sacred story, Noah and his family managed to survive the flood.
The same scenario is depicted in the painting where a man, is shown trying to save his father — and is seen ignoring his wife and little son.
In the painting, the father represents the past, the wife represents the present and the son represents the future.
Thus, the man is stuck with his past life and doesn't care either about his present or his future.
This painting represents the current scenario.
If one will keep on looking at the past, he will definitely miss out on all the possibilities that the future can bring.
